Meet Top Rehab’s Chiropodist Dr. Philip

The first step in getting custom orthotics is booking a consultation with our chiropodist, Dr. Philip (D.P.M.).
Education & Training: Dr. Philip earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree in South Africa and is licensed with the College of Chiropodists of Ontario.
Expertise: He diagnoses and treats a wide range of foot, ankle, and vein conditions. His treatment plans often include custom made foot orthotics, orthopedic shoes, or compression stockings.

Patient-Centered Care: He treats patients of all ages, from toddlers to seniors. Known for his sense of humor and approachable manner, he helps children relax during small procedures and provides compassionate care to adults and seniors managing chronic conditions.
Languages Spoken: English.

Step 1: Chiropody Appointment with Dr. Philip

The journey begins by booking an appointment with Dr. Philip, our chiropodist. At this appointment:
Dr. Philip performs a full consultation to understand your foot health and medical history.
He conducts a gait analysis and evaluates how you walk and stand.
Using an iPad or handheld 3D scanner, he captures a highly accurate model of your feet.
If needed, he also provides additional foot care, such as callus or nail treatment, to ensure your feet are healthy before you begin using custom made foot orthotics.
This session lasts about 30 minutes and produces all the medical documentation insurance companies require. A prescription is then issued, which is mandatory for custom orthotics coverage.

Step 2: Deposit and Laboratory Manufacturing

After your assessment:
$150 deposit per pair is collected.
Your 3D foot scan and prescription are securely sent to our certified orthotics lab.
The lab combines leading-edge 3D printing with traditional molding to create your custom made foot orthotics, using premium raw materials and state-of-the-art technology and materials, top cover material such as soft foam, leather, moisture-wicking fabric and or our famous antimicrobial materials.
This process typically takes about two weeks.

Step 3: Dispensing Appointment and Fitting Orthotic

Once your orthotics are ready, we schedule a dispensing appointment normally if required by your insurance company.
Bring the shoes you wear most often.
Dr. Philip inserts your custom orthotics and ensures they match your condition, activity level, and comfort needs.
If adjustments are required (rare, but possible), they are made immediately.
This step is also an insurance requirement, as most providers require proof that your custom made foot orthotics were dispensed and fitted by a licensed chiropodist.

Step 4: Final Payment and Insurance Documentation

You pay the remaining balance (minus your deposit), and we provide a six-page insurance package that includes:
Chiropodist prescription and clinical notes.
Gait analysis results.
An official receipt.
Three lab documents describing the materials, casting techniques, and final orthotic design.
This package ensures your claim for custom orthotics is accepted without issue.
